God Must Take the First Place in Your Life

Print

If you study the Bible carefully you will notice the principle of giving the first fruits to the Lord. Through this God makes it clear that He must take the first place in every area of our lives.

Dear friend, you must know that everything God asks us to do is not to bind us but to cause us to have benefits. You see, the reason for our existence, first and foremost, is to have a vibrant relationship with God. Therefore, we as believers must know that developing an intimate relationship with God must be the first, the highest, and the most important priority of our lives.

Wisdom is not only knowing what to do, but also knowing what to ignore.

If you desire to see the victorious life that Jesus’ blood has provided for you, then you will have to learn to maintain the right priority every day. Your priorities today will affect your life tomorrow. Each day, you must fight the good fight of faith endeavoring to put first things first. Spending time reading, listening, and meditating on the Word of God must be the first priority of every believer.

Remember, what is first in your life will govern all the other areas of your life. So just think about this, when you put God first then God will govern all areas of your life. And when that happens, God’s love, joy, peace, blessings, and power will overflow into all areas of your life!

I would like to share with you some of the benefits of putting God first.

1. You will know God’s will.

So many Christians run from place to place trying to know how to be in the “center” of God’s will. I have met believers who are weary, frustrated, and even confused in their pursuit of God’s will. I believe that as you put developing an intimate relationship with God first you will know God’s will without getting burnt out.

2. You will become strong.

God is the true source of strength. There is nothing you cannot do with His strength working in your life.
Daniel 11:32
Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
Isaiah 40:30-31
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

3. You will not lack.

Putting God first will cause you to experience supernatural provision and increase.
Matthew 6:31-33
Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Psalms 34:10
The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

Put God first. Don’t worry about your financial challenges, or your relationship problems, or the critical decisions you need to make. Keep growing in your relationship with God and watch God fight all your battles. And when God fights your battles you cannot help but win!
