How one falls from grace?

As we study the Word of God we find that the grace of God is the central theme of the entire Bible. We also discover that God's grace is the answer to every human need. In the grace of God is found all our blessing and wholeness. Therefore, it is very important that we learn to live under grace every day in every area.

There are two ways the Believer can choose to live – the life of self-effort or the life of continual dependence on Jesus. Whether or not you experience God's best for you is determined by what choice you are living under. The Bible says in Romans 6:14, "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." Notice that you could either be under law or under grace. Life under law is filled with stress, confusion, and constant defeat. The reason it is so is because under law, man is trying to live independent of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Life under grace is filled with peace, wisdom, and victory. This is because God is involved in the life of Grace! So, ask yourself, "Are you living under law or under grace?"

Many people knowingly or unknowingly fall from the life of grace and thereby forfeit the experience of the abundant life Jesus died to give us.
Galatians 5:1-4 tells us, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I, Paul say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again to every man who become circumcised that he is a debtor to the whole law. 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace."

There has been a great deal of misunderstanding among believers about what it means to fall from grace. The above scripture tells us how one falls from grace. Notice verse 4 tells us that the way one falls from grace is when he turns away from trusting in the finished work of Jesus and depend on our own effort to earn from God. Now, many believers think that they fall from grace when they fall into temptation, or miss a church service, or forget to read the Bible and pray, or fail to get a friend saved. I am not advocating that you miss church or don't read your bible or pray, or never evangelize, however, failure in these areas is not how you fall away from the grace of God. According to the Bible, the only way, and I repeat the only way one falls from grace is to stop trusting in the finished work of Christ at the cross.

My friend, when you daily believe in your heart that every blessing and victory you will experience will only be because of the price Jesus paid at the cross you are living under grace.

When you trust in your own effort, then Christ's finished work will not benefit you. On the other hand, if you trust in Jesus, then the power of the cross, the healing of Jesus, His peace, wisdom and anointing will affect you everyday and in every area of your life.
